Gifted Testing

How to qualify for the Academically Gifted Program

A student must have a composite IQ of 130 or higher to qualify for the gifted program. Students scoring a 127 or higher may be eligible if three teachers provide written recommendation for the student to be considered for gifted eligibility. Call your child's school for more information.

The Testing Process

ChildTestingFL uses the WISC-V (Wechsler Intelligence Scales for Children-5th Edition) for ages 6 through 16, and the WPPSI-IV (Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scales of Intelligence-4th Edition) for ages 2 through 6 .

Testing is done in person and in your home by a licensed school psychologist, who travels to location. All that is required is a quiet space with a table and 2 chairs (such as the dining room or kitchen table). Aside from the convenience of not having to drive anywhere, at-home testing offers numerous proven advantages including: reducing testing anxiety, privacy, and  time efficiency. The entire testing process usually takes about an hour️, making it a stress-free experience for the student.

After testing you will be emailed a PDF report within 2 business days.

Cost & Payment

IQ testing (for the gifted program) has a flat rate of $795. Payment is due in full the day of testing. No deposits are required. Accepted forms of payment are: checks,  Zelle®, Venmo®, cash and money orders. Please be advised that our private testing is an out-of-pocket cost, we don't take medical insurance.
